I first photographed Taylor with her family a couple years ago.  It was great to photograph her again this time for her senior portraits.  We met up in San Miguel at the mission for her session.  You were a good sport, since the breezy conditions like to mess up your bangs. ;-)

Kim Prochazka: These are so cute! You always have fab locations too!

Lina: Beautiful work as always. Such a great location.

I first met Kaitlin when I photographed Ryan. We decided to meet for her session in downtown Templeton and then headed to her home to end the session. It was hot, like 110 degree hot. But we survived with lots of water and shade. Thanks for being a trooper.

She is beautiful, isn’t she?! And her eyes, wow.

I was so excited to return home and get to these images of Samantha and Vanessa. You may recognize Miss Samantha from The McDonald Family Session - this is Clayton’s sister. ♥ Now the braces are off and she has a wonderful smile - although I think she has one of the best serious faces.  :)

this image I used some off camera lighting…. love how it turned out.

    Tiny Sneak Peek…..

    August 24, 2009

Oh how I love this family.  And when the 4 girlies unloaded out of the car this evening, I knew we would laugh all evening.  I had so much fun tonight.  We shot for about 3 hours.  I just did my thing and the girls gave me the beauty.   Such a joy photographing Samantha and Vanessa, spending time with Wendy and meeting Lynnea

We found old tires, barbed wire, chain link, white fences, red roll-up doors, awesome wood, the Botz dots of the roadway, lonely mailboxes - fun fun fun…. and as I was shooting and the girls were posing, Wendy was scavenger hunting the grounds finding interesting things, like rusty little fortunes that she’ll put to use later.  :)

There was no way I could leave to go out of town for a couple days and not put up this image….  Love you girls.

many more to come when I return home…

for now, Samantha and Vanessa, have a great day back to school tomorrow. :)

  • Kim Prochazka: Gorgeous as usual! That first one is great! I love sessions where we laugh the whole time!

Michelle Kane: Beautiful images and girls! I'm digging the denim outfits. Great work.

Jane Eaton Hamilton: Hmm, these young women are soooo beautiful. Great job with these.

The skies were dark and it was hard to find light.  We even occasionally felt a raindrop or two.  I lost my new off camera flash umbrella due to a little gust of wind from out of nowhere at the very first location we set up at. :( but we survived.  Oh, and there was no wind - nice change.

  • Michelle Kane: Really pretty. Beautiful DOF.

Scarlett: Beautiful work! love them all!

This is my most favorite thing, to post the sneak peek after a session.  When Gabbie and her mother arrived to Vina Robles for their session, I knew instantly her mom was related to Kathy.  :)  So meet Gabbie.  Cute and sweet.  I love to look at what the girls bring for clothes and then usually ask them what to wear when.  As soon as she showed me this one dress she brought, I *knew* it was perfect for Vina Robles.  As the winds blew all around us, here is some of what we captured.

  • Joanne: I love these pictures! She is Beautiful. You are a Awesome photographer!

Kim Prochazka: These are beautiful! I love #4 - the way the wheat frames her face is just perfect!

Meet Kirsten.  We met at Castoro for her senior portraits and I loved just how casual it was during this session.  Kirsten you were very laid back and a good sport with your eyes tearing up due to the winds.  Thanks for sticking it out.  We sure tried to hide from the winds but they kept finding us. ha!

This summer’s winds have been horrible,  just really windy.  I’m sounding like a broken record.  Of course, it could be that this winery is located down a wind tunnel. ;-)    I prefer to shoot later in the evening when the winds usually die down.  So FYI I won’t be shooting at many wineries anymore, because they close too early.

Isn’t she a cutie with her single dimple?!

  • Anna: Adorable!

Michelle Kane: Oooh, love the 4th one! So pretty.

Scarlett: totally beautiful. every one. I want you to take my senior pics....I'm 32, is that a problem?? lol! If only I could go back in time. Your senior pictures are stunning.

I met Shannon several years ago.  She used to work at one of the law firms where I often report depositions.  I photographed her family a couple years back.  It was time for new portraits for  the walls of her new home and she said they’d drive down to the Central Coast for her session. YAY.

So they rented a 2010 Camero and drove down.  The car was quite beautiful.   We met at Avila Beach on Saturday.  The weather was beautiful.  Some very relaxed shots first at the pier.

and then a quick change of clothes and over to a little beach in the Bay.

probably my fave shot of the day.  :)

Michelle Kane: Lovely family shots. The last one is priceless.

melissa zihlman: What a beautiful family! I love the third image, and the last one just melts my heart...perfect.

    Dana: Gorgeous!

This session was originally scheduled for this evening.  But I am so thankful Heather’s mother suggested the morning, due to the heat.  Not only the heat, but we have bad smoke-filled air right now. blech!  Today was  a windy day, but it worked out perfectly, with just a little overshooting to account for flying hair.

We met downtown Paso this morning and did her whole session within two blocks.  Used a little off camera lighting in some.  Special thank you to her mom for holding my light so it didn’t fall over.  :-)

    Enjoy your sneak peek.
